Wild camping during a pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic has led to a boom in wild camping – how can you travel responsibly?

The COVID-19 pandemic has boosted the popularity of staycations – and camping trips in particular. Wild campers have been enjoying the natural beauty of the British countryside, but fly-camping has caused some issues as campfire damage and litter have marred some rural areas. Camping in areas with the proper permissions will be crucial in summer 2021, to avoid an escalation of these problems.

This is where the campervan comes into its own. With all your own toilet, washing and cooking facilities on board, you can enjoy staying in remote areas without any infrastructure. In your campervan, you are able to leave no trace on the land you visit, enjoying the countryside while respecting the environment.

During the pandemic, the camper also allows you to travel in your own COVID-secure unit. No need to worry about who has used the shower before you! Our locations enable you to get away from crowded campsites and enjoy your holiday in peace.

At Wild With Consent, we want everyone to be able to experience the beauty of rural areas, in seclusion and with full landowner permission. There are no issues of overcrowding, as you have exclusive access to the site for the nights you book. We find hosts with off-the-beaten track locations and connect them to campervan enthusiasts who want the freedom to adventure without parking up illegally.

When COVID restrictions allow, we look forward to welcoming you to our inaugural Northumbrian locations

If you have a parcel of land that would offer privacy and an outstanding outlook, get in touch to talk about adding a Wild With Consent site to your portfolio.

Hi, I'm Grace, founder of Wild With Consent! I love getting out into the great outdoors at every possible opportunity, and am passionate about helping more people explore our great countryside. I think Northumberland has some of the best natural beauty in the country - but I'm biased having grown up there!
