Scotchcoulthard Farm is just four miles north of Hadrian’s Wall in one of the most remote areas of the Northumberland National Park. Sited on the edge of Wark Forest which leads into Kielder Forest, this small 180 acre farm is surrounded by magnificent views over the moors.

The area is full of wildlife, with lucky visitors able to spot red squirrels, hedgehogs, woodpeckers, deer and many others. Traditional hay meadows run down either side of the farm drive. These are not cut until late July, allowing many wild flowers and ground nesting birds to flourish. The Northumberland National Park has been classified as a Dark Sky Park as there is no light pollution, so on a clear night the stargazing is fantastic, and often follows a breathtaking sunset.

Access is down a stone farm track, with parking on grass. There is electric hookup available at the farmhouse if required, for a small extra charge.

This is a leave no trace site. All guests must bring their own toilet facilities, and dispose of waste responsibly.
