Greymare Farm
Detchant, Middleton, Northumberland, England
About this listing
Nestled into a copse of trees, this location has beautiful views of Lindisfarne Castle. It’s a perfect spot for watching the sunrise over the sea and the evening light behind Holy Island. Only 5 minutes drive from the A1, at the top of a quiet single-track country lane, Greymare Farm is perfect for a night or weekend stopover on your way to or from Scotland.
Situated close to St Cuthbert’s Way, visitors can walk up to St Cuthbert’s Cave for outstanding views of The Cheviots inland, or access the footpath to Holy Island. Access to the site is very easy – straight off the lane onto a grass parking area.
Drinking water is available from a hosepipe, and there is a seating area with a brazier to light a fire.
Access is directly from a tarmac road, to the grass parking area just before the farm cottages. At the end of a no through road, this location is peaceful and easy to access.
This is a leave no trace site. All guests must bring their own toilet facilities, and dispose of waste responsibly.
